Vroom, Vroom!
A few weeks ago Aaron bought a street bike in an attempt to fight the rising costs of fuel. It is much more cost efficient to ride a motorcycle than to drive his '66 Land Cruiser the 50 miles round trip to work and back. At least this is the sly little argument he used to convince me that purchasing a bike was a good idea. Ever since he got the bike, the kids have been begging and pleading to go for a ride but we didn't have an extra helmet for them to wear. Aaron remedied this problem over the weekend and they finally got to take a spin around the block. Of course they loved it and haven't stopped begging for more.
After each of the kids had their thrill, it was Mom's turn. Only, instead of taking me around the block, Aaron took me to Palm Springs. Okay, so that part was planned, but what wasn't planned was that we would be riding through 70 mile an hour winds on the way back home. I was completely terrified. I was sure the wind was going to send us to our death and I was literally screaming and crying in my helmet, begging God to let us live. Thank goodness Aaron couldn't hear me, he'd never let me live it down.

Hey did our husbands talk this over behind our backs?! Jim used the same excuse, but only for a scooter. can you believe they get 115 miles to the gallon?! I want one...oh, wait, I have to lug kids around.
Glad you made it back in one piece.
Did Aaron loose weight?
I'm so sorry you had a scary experience, however your description had me laughing out loud! Forgive me :)
Yep! I'm with Leah-I was cracking up! I'm glad you're still alive though! :) Just tell Aaron to be careful-he doesn't have the best track record with motorcycles! :)
Speaking of bikes-we leave tomorrow for the Harley Run to Laughlin! Hope we have good weather for the ride!
Michelle, that's so funny Jim used the same excuse. Did he get a scooter? No, Aaron has actually gained a bit of weight that he's in the process of trying to lose.
Janet, I know, I've reminded him of his track record and he argued that he only went down on a street bike once and that was just because he hit sand (um, racing around a corner at 90 mph).
Joses tells me the EXACT same thing! I'm sure Aaron told him to tell me that about the gas mileage.
Okay, now I need to know how far away Palm Springs is and how you stayed on that bike until you got there! I was so nervous reading that!
Meggan, Palm Springs is about 45 minutes from here. It felt much more like 3 hours.
